Jacques Greene Announces New Album JG for October 2026

Jacques Greene Returns With Collaborative New Album JG

The Montréal Producer Returns to the Dance Floor With His First Solo Album in Seven Years

Montreal producer Jacques Greene is returning with JG, his first solo studio album in seven years.

Set for release on October 16, 2026, the 11-track project brings Greene back to the solo album format following 2019’s Dawn Chorus. However, JG is far from a solitary affair. The new record brings together a wide-ranging group of collaborators from Greene’s musical community.

The result promises to connect the emotional electronic music that has defined his career with a more collaborative approach to writing and production.

JG Opens a New Solo Chapter

Jacques Greene has spent much of his career finding the space between the dance floor and more introspective electronic music.

Born in Montreal, the Canadian DJ and producer has incorporated elements of house, R&B and UK garage throughout his work. His early releases helped establish him internationally, while albums such as Feel Infinite and Dawn Chorus expanded his sound beyond club-focused production.

JG now marks his third solo studio album.

It also arrives after a busy collaborative period. In 2025, Greene joined Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing for the full-length Verses GT. That project grew from several years of shared singles and musical experimentation.

“Presence” Introduces JG

The new album was announced alongside “Presence,” a bass-heavy track influenced by two-step rhythms. The song offers the first official preview of JG and points towards Greene’s continued interest in connecting atmospheric production with music that still carries physical energy.

However, collaboration appears to be just as important to the album as its electronic foundations.

Greene has explained that the featured artists emerged through genuine relationships rather than a deliberate attempt to assemble a high-profile guest list. That approach gives JG the feeling of a musical community coming together around the project.

Canadian Artists Join the Collaboration

Several Canadian connections make the guest list particularly interesting.

Montreal multi-instrumentalist and producer Ouri contributes to the album, as does Montreal electronic artist CFCF. Vancouver-born singer-songwriter Jonah Yano also appears among the collaborators.

Elsewhere, Greene works with DJ Boring, umru, SAM-E, SEES0000, crushed and Sølv.

That mix of voices fits naturally with Greene’s approach. Rather than remaining within one narrow electronic genre, his music has repeatedly moved between club culture, R&B and more atmospheric forms of electronic production.

From Montreal to an International Audience

Greene has been part of Montreal’s electronic music landscape since the beginning of his career.

His breakthrough releases arrived during the early 2010s, when producers were increasingly blurring the lines between house, contemporary R&B and UK electronic music. The 2011 track “Another Girl” became one of the recordings that helped introduce his distinctive approach to a wider audience.

His debut album, Feel Infinite, followed in 2017. Dawn Chorus arrived two years later and broadened the scope of his music through additional musicians and collaborators.

Now, seven years after that album, JG brings Greene’s solo catalogue into its next phase.

A Canadian Electronic Release to Watch

The timing makes JG particularly notable.

Greene has remained active through singles, EPs, performances and Verses GT, yet a new Jacques Greene solo album has been a long time coming.

More importantly, JG does not appear designed simply to revisit the sound of his previous records. Its extensive collaborations suggest an artist using the connections built throughout his career to explore where his music can go next.

For Canadian electronic music listeners, Jacques Greene’s return is one of the more intriguing releases on the fall calendar.

JG arrives October 16, 2026.
