Blue Rodeo Celebrates Four Decades of Canadian Music with Special Guest The Devin Cuddy Band

For more than 40 years, Blue Rodeo has been one of Canada’s defining bands, blending country, rock, folk and roots music into a sound that has become part of the nation’s musical identity. This summer, the iconic group returns to Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary for two highly anticipated performances, joined by special guest The Devin Cuddy Band. Owing to strong demand, a second show was added, with concerts scheduled for August 4 and August 5, 2026, at the Event Centre.

Fans can expect an evening celebrating timeless classics, enduring musicianship and new music from one of Canada’s most beloved bands.

Four Decades of Canadian Excellence

Since forming in Toronto in 1984, Blue Rodeo has become one of the country’s most successful and respected recording artists. Led by founding members Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, the band has built a catalogue filled with songs that have become Canadian classics.

Hits including Try, Lost Together, Hasn’t Hit Me Yet, 5 Days in May, Head Over Heels and Til I Am Myself Again continue to receive regular radio play while introducing new listeners to the band’s distinctive sound.

Over the years, Blue Rodeo has earned multiple JUNO Awards, sold millions of albums and been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In 2024, songwriting partners Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor were also inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, recognising their remarkable contribution to Canadian music.

A Live Show That Never Disappoints

Blue Rodeo has built its reputation not only through award-winning recordings but also through exceptional live performances.

Every concert showcases the band’s remarkable musicianship, heartfelt harmonies and timeless songwriting. While longtime fans know every lyric, newcomers quickly discover why Blue Rodeo concerts consistently sell out across Canada.

The current lineup features Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor, Bazil Donovan, Glenn Milchem, Michael Boguski, Colin Cripps and Jimmy Bowskill. Together, they create a rich sound that moves effortlessly between rock, country, folk and blues.

Rather than relying on elaborate production, Blue Rodeo allows its songs to remain the focus. Their performances feel both polished and personal, making every audience feel connected to the music.

Special Guest: The Devin Cuddy Band

Opening both Calgary performances is The Devin Cuddy Band, one of Canada’s rising roots-rock acts.

Fronted by singer-songwriter Devin Cuddy, the band combines country, blues and rock influences into energetic performances filled with memorable melodies and strong musicianship. Their engaging stage presence makes them an ideal complement to Blue Rodeo’s celebrated sound.

Concertgoers can expect an entertaining opening set that perfectly prepares the audience for an unforgettable headline performance.

Grey Eagle Welcomes a Canadian Favourite

The Grey Eagle Resort & Casino Event Centre has become one of Western Canada’s leading concert venues, regularly welcoming internationally acclaimed performers.

Blue Rodeo’s return highlights the venue’s reputation for presenting outstanding live entertainment.

Originally announced for one evening, the overwhelming response from fans resulted in a second Calgary performance being added, giving more people the opportunity to experience the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations live. Both concerts begin at 8:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm. Reserved seating is available, and the shows are open to all ages.

Songs That Have Become Part of Canada’s Story

Few Canadian bands have created a catalogue as enduring as Blue Rodeo’s.

Their music has accompanied generations through celebrations, road trips and everyday moments. Songs such as Lost Together and Hasn’t Hit Me Yet have become staples of Canadian radio while continuing to resonate with audiences decades after their release.

That lasting popularity reflects the band’s ability to write honest songs about love, life and relationships without following passing musical trends.

As a result, Blue Rodeo remains just as relevant today as when they first emerged in the mid-1980s.

Why This Concert Is Worth the Trip

The Calgary performances offer more than nostalgia. They celebrate one of Canada’s greatest musical success stories while demonstrating that Blue Rodeo continues to evolve as a live band.

With The Devin Cuddy Band opening the evening, audiences will enjoy two outstanding Canadian acts sharing one stage.

Whether attending as lifelong fans or discovering Blue Rodeo for the first time, concertgoers can expect world-class musicianship, timeless songwriting and an evening filled with songs that have shaped Canada’s musical landscape.
