So Faint Bring Their New Indie-Rock Project to Toronto’s Lula Lounge
A friendship that began in a Vancouver recording studio more than a decade ago has developed into a new Canadian musical partnership.
So Faint, the collaborative project from Canadian singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas and musician Lyn Heinemann, will make a Toronto stop at Lula Lounge on October 22 as part of the duo’s first run of Canadian shows. The concert arrives less than a week after the October 16 release of their self-titled debut album.
The Toronto performance will also feature Ada Lea as special guest, giving audiences an early opportunity to hear So Faint’s new material performed live.
A Friendship Becomes So Faint
Georgas and Heinemann first crossed paths musically in 2010 while recording separate albums in the same Vancouver studio. An invitation to contribute backing vocals led to a friendship and creative connection that would continue even as their professional lives moved in different directions.
Georgas continued building an international career as a singer-songwriter, earning JUNO and Polaris Prize nominations and touring extensively. More recently, she joined Broken Social Scene for the band’s 2026 album Remember The Humans. Heinemann, meanwhile, stepped away from performing while continuing to write music privately.
The two reunited creatively in 2023. What emerged was So Faint — a guitar-driven project built around their intertwined vocals, melodic songwriting and the perspective that comes from two longtime friends reconnecting musically after taking very different paths through adulthood.
“Fully Slow” Introduces the Duo’s Sound
The first taste of the project arrived August 19 with “Fully Slow,” the lead single from the forthcoming album.
Produced with Sean Sroka of Ten Kills the Pack, with engineering by Graham Walsh and mixing by Alex Farrar, the track pairs an understated indie-rock sound with a decidedly less carefree subject: wanting someone while knowing the feeling is unlikely to be returned.
It’s an effective introduction to what appears to be one of So Faint’s defining contrasts. The duo’s songs deal with complicated experiences — relationships, loss, uncertainty and the expectations that accompany adulthood — without allowing the music itself to become weighed down by them.
A Debut Album — and a New Canadian Label
So Faint arrives October 16 with ten tracks:
Assistant Theme, Fully Slow, Begin Again, Chain Chain Chain, Devotion Is A Mess, Dreamlike, Economist, Favourite, Temporary Mirror and Say The End.
The record also marks another new beginning for Georgas. It will be released through Beetle Bomb Records, the label she founded to give herself greater involvement in how her music reaches listeners.
For two artists beginning a new project together, that independence feels particularly appropriate. So Faint isn’t simply another chapter in Georgas’s established solo career. It’s an opportunity for Georgas and Heinemann to build something of their own from the ground up.
So Faint Take the Album on the Road
The October shows will provide the first live showcase for the album.
The tour begins October 20 in Guelph before travelling to Hamilton, Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa. So Faint then heads west for a November 6 performance at Vancouver’s Fox Cabaret.
Toronto falls almost exactly in the middle of that run, with the October 22 Lula Lounge concert taking place only six days after the album’s release.
For listeners discovering So Faint through “Fully Slow,” it will be an early chance to see what Georgas and Heinemann’s decade-long creative connection sounds like when translated from the studio to the stage.
